 , the trendsetter of a German musical tradition that would last for more 
 than two hundred years. For its opening concert of the season\, Texas Ear
 ly Music Project performs some of the most technically and emotionally po
 werful music by Buxtehude and Schütz\, featuring Schütz’s Musikalische Ex
 equien and Buxtehude’s magnificent cantata\, Herzlich lieb hab ich\, for 
 chorus\, soloists\, and orchestra.
