Brass quintet performs the music of Gabrieli, Bach, Monteverdi, and more

A concert of contemplative music honoring the legacy of service extended to all by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. The program features music from Lassus, Palestrina, and Guerrero.

As this year’s Artists-in-Residence, the Copperleaf Quintet is presenting five concerts for the Chapel’s music series. The concerts feature Renaissance vocal chamber music and center around seasonal themes as they relate to the Chapel’s liturgical calendar.

Members of this San Antonio-based Baroque ensemble – Madalyn Blanchett, Brian DeLay, George Gregory, Cora Harnish, and Ramon Gonzalez – will perform selections by Quantz, Corbett, Purcell, and C.P.E. Bach on period instruments that include recorder, traverso, harpsichord, theorbo, viola da gamba, Baroque cello, and Baroque guitar.

First Friday Series begins with music of J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, and William Byrd. Concerts last approximately 30 minutes. A luncheon is provided afterward for a small charge.
